Ambassador Appiah-Sam Attends 50th Anniversary Celebration of UN Tourism

Her Excellency Regina Appiah-Sam, Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain, participated in the 50th Anniversary Celebration of UN Tourism, held in Madrid, the headquarters of the organization.
The high-level event brought together global leaders, diplomats, and key stakeholders in the tourism sector to commemorate five decades of the UN’s efforts in promoting sustainable and inclusive tourism worldwide.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Appiah-Sam engaged with Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UN Tourism, and exchanged views on tourism-led development opportunities in Ghana and Africa at large. She also held productive conversations with other dignitaries in attendance, including Mr. José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, former Prime Minister of Spain, and Mr. Enrique Cerezo, President of Atlético Madrid Football Club.
The Ambassador used the occasion to highlight Ghana’s tourism potential and emphasized the country's commitment to leveraging culture, heritage, and hospitality as engines for economic growth.
