The Ambassador of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain received the President of the National Union of Ghanaian Associations in Spain (NUGAS) on a courtesy call at the Embassy on 5 June 2026.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Association for the warm reception accorded to the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the Ghanaian delegation during their recent visit to Barcelona. She particularly commended the Association for mobilizing the Ghanaian community to engage with the Vice President during the visit.
The President of NUGAS briefed the Ambassador on the activities of the Union, explaining that it serves as the umbrella body and federation of Ghanaian associations across Spain. She highlighted some of the social initiatives undertaken by the Association to support the Ghanaian community.
The Ambassador commended the Association for its contribution to community development and engagement and discussed areas of collaboration between the Embassy and NUGAS, as well as planned activities for the remainder of the year.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Embassy and NUGAS to promoting the welfare of Ghanaians in Spain and strengthening engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora.
