Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain
Her Excellency Regina Appiah-Sam, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain, brings over two decades of extensive diplomatic experience and leadership in Ghana’s Foreign Service. Since joining the Ministry in 2002 as a Foreign Service Officer, she has played a pivotal role in strengthening Ghana's bilateral and multilateral relations across Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia. Prior to her diplomatic career, she amassed valuable experience in diverse fields, including teaching, administrative management, and marketing.
Throughout her distinguished career, Ambassador Appiah-Sam has represented Ghana at various international conferences and meetings, including:
- The Eleventh Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly
- The Accra Climate Change Conference
- The Conference of Africa-European Union Foreign Ministers
- The First Climate and SDGs Synergy Conference in Denmark
- The 8th Brazil Summit on Anti-Corruption
Ambassador Appiah-Sam has also undertaken significant professional training in areas such as:
- Cyber Security
- Diplomatic Negotiation in the Context of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
- Negotiation and Mediation as Instruments for Conflict Resolution
- Policy Development and Analysis
- Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding in Africa
In her personal life, Ambassador Appiah-Sam enjoys reading, photography, and cooking. She is married and blessed with two children.
As Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain, Her Excellency is committed to fostering deeper cooperation between the two nations in trade, investment, tourism, culture, and education. She is dedicated to promoting Ghana’s interests, exploring avenues for mutual benefits, and fostering sustainable development partnerships. Additionally, she remains a strong advocate for the Ghanaian diaspora in Spain, ensuring their active involvement in strengthening Ghana-Spain relations.
