H.E Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain held a meeting with Ms. Ximena Bartolome Tocina, Director – General for Africa at Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation to advance preparations for the Seventh Ghana–Spain Political Consultations to be held in Accra in the 4th quarter of 2026.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. The Spanish side indicated that it is exploring the possibility of combining the Consultations with a possible high-level official visit to Ghana.

The discussions also focused on expanding economic cooperation. Spain welcomed the Embassy's proposal to organise an Investment Forum alongside the Political Consultations and expressed interest in exploring opportunities to facilitate the participation of Spanish businesses.

The meeting further reviewed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including regional peace and security, multilateral collaboration, diplomatic visa facilitation, and continued support for initiatives that promote stability and sustainable development in West Africa.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening the longstanding friendship between Ghana and Spain and agreed to maintain close coordination towards a successful outcome of the forthcoming Political Consultations.
