On Thursday, 21st May, 2026, H.E. Mrs. Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain, met with legendary Ghanaian highlife musician and President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, at the Embassy of Ghana in Spain to discuss MUSIGA's upcoming Highlife to the World, Europe Tour 2026.
Mr. Simons highlighted plans to promote Ghana’s rich Highlife music heritage across Europe through the “Highlife to the World” initiative, a cultural project aimed at promoting Ghana’s Highlife music on the international stage.
The initiative will bring together celebrated Ghanaian musicians, cultural stakeholders, and promoters through concerts, workshops, cultural exchanges, and community engagements across selected European countries, including Spain.
The project seeks to showcase Highlife as an authentic Ghanaian sound that tells the story of Ghana’s people, culture, and traditions while connecting younger generations to their roots.
Activities are expected to include live performances, academic and cultural workshops, media engagements, and collaborations with local institutions and Ghanaian communities abroad.
