The Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Regina Appiah - Sam, has formally presented Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Felipe VI at the Royal Palace in Madrid. The solemn ceremony, held at 10:45 a.m., marks the official assumption of duty by the Ambassador in further strengthening diplomatic relations between Ghana and Spain.
Accompanied by a distinguished delegation from the Ghanaian Embassy, H.E. Apppiah - Sam was warmly received at the Zarzuela Royal Palace, where the credentials were presented to His Majesty. During the ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed greetings from H.E. the President of the Republic of Ghana and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Spain across various sectors, including trade, investment, security, health, and tourism.
Following the formalities, His Majesty King Felipe VI extended his congratulations and welcomed the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain. Discussions during the engagement focused on mutual priorities, particularly the security situation in the Sahel, economic partnerships, and Ghana’s candidature for a position within the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism). His Majesty assured the Ambassador of Spain’s continued support for Ghana’s initiatives on the global stage.
The successful presentation of Letters of Credence marks a significant step in strengthening Ghana-Spain diplomatic relations, fostering collaboration on global and regional issues of shared interest. The Embassy of Ghana in Madrid remains committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing the interests of Ghana and its citizens in Spain.
